FAQ

What is therapy / counselling?

Life can be really challenging.  Therapy provides the opportunity, in a confidential space, to talk through some of those challenges, to disentangle some of your thinking, to find space for some of your feelings. It can help you to reconnect with yourself as well as helping you to live differently and with purpose. For more information about counselling or therapy (the two words are often used interchangeably) and how to make the most of it, take a look at the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy’s guide, Thinking about therapy?

What is the initial meeting for?

Coming to therapy for the first time can be daunting. So, it is important that we meet for an initial session to see whether we think we could work with each other. We will also talk about what you want to work on and how many weeks you are happy to commit to.

How much does it cost?

All sessions are £70. Sessions take place at the same time every week and last 50 minutes. I also offer a number of low-cost spaces for clients on restricted incomes.

What happens if I miss a session?

Attending sessions regularly at the same time each week is an important part of the commitment. However, life can sometimes get in the way and I will always try and reschedule. I won’t charge for sessions where I have received 48 hours notice.
